Help Animals at Any Age!

Community service is a great way to teach students and families the importance of investing in our community and the animals and people who live in it. ACSKC has several volunteer projects for children, teens, classrooms or extracurricular youth groups who are interested in donating their time and talents to help the animals at our shelter. The following activities are the most impactful way that they can make a difference

Hold a Wish List Drive

Check out our Wish List and hold a drive to collect the items we need most! Advertise at your school (with permission) or in your neighborhood and find a designated area to collect items. Get a few representatives to bring the supplies to our shelter and see the animals who will benefit from your hard work. You can also do specific drives such as a used towel drive, toy drive or food drive!

Lemonade Stand or Bake Sale

A classic fundraiser that everyone should get to experience! Let your customers know that the money collected from your sales will be donated to your favorite animal shelter. Don’t forget to put a "tip jar" out for extra donations!

Make Hand-Knotted Fleece Blankets

Lay two same-size pieces of fleece on top of each other. Cut out a square about three to four inches from each corner. This will prevent bunching of the material in the corners and help to make tieing easier. Next cut out slits, almost like a fringe, about three inches deep all the way around the fabric. Just make sure you cut deep enough so that you can tie the pieces together. Tie the matching top and bottom slits together into double knots (helps them to stay together after washing). Congratulations, you’ve just made a blanket that will keep our animals warm and cozy!

How to Donate

Please deliver crafts, wish list items or monetary donations to our shelter. At this time, due to limited resources, ACSKC is not able to pick up in-kind donations.

Items can be dropped off Tuesday-Saturday from 8am-4pm
